Tin Foil Glitter Stars

Supplies Needed:

  • Tin Foil
  • Cardboard
  • Scissors
  • White Glue
  • Red and Blue Glitter
  • White Ribbon

Directions:

  1. Cut the cardboard into star shapes in a variety of sizes, depending on your preference and how many you want to make.
  2. Cover each star completely with a thin layer of tin foil.
  3. Use the glue to create the desired design on the tin foil; i.e. dots or abstract.
  4. Sprinkle the glitter over the glue, shaking off excess glitter.
  5. Allow tin foil glitter star to dry.
  6. If desired, cut a hole in the top of each star and attach a piece of ribbon for hanging.

Cotton Ball American Flag

Supplies Needed:

  • Cotton Balls
  • Tempura Paint in Red and Blue
  • Piece of cardboard, cut into approximately an 11x17-inch piece
  • White Glue
  • 50 Gold Star Stickers
  • Newspaper and Paint Containers

Directions:

  1. Line a workspace with newspaper or other protective covering.
  2. Pour paint into bowls or other desired container.
  3. Dip an equal amount of cotton balls into each color of paint, and allow to dry. You will need approximately two dozen cotton balls. Reserve a third of the cotton balls to remain white.
  4. Once the paint on the cotton balls has dried, you are ready to make your flag. Glue the blue cotton balls to the upper left hand corner of your cardboard piece, creating a square just like the American flag.
  5. Use the gold star stickers to create the 50 stars on the flag, sticking them onto the blue cotton balls.
  6. Begin to glue the red and white cotton balls onto the cardboard, alternating rows of red and white until you have a completed flag.
  7. Allow to dry and then display your Cotton Ball American Flag as desired.

Toilet Paper Roll Firecrackers

Supplies Needed:

  • "Emptied" Cardboard Toilet Paper Rolls
  • Mylar Shred for Gift Baskets in Gold, Silver, Red and/or Blue
  • Red and Blue Tempura Paint
  • White Glue
  • Paintbrush
  • Fourth of July-themed stickers, glitter, etc.

Directions:

  1. Paint the toilet paper rolls red and blue; you may choose to paint them one solid color or create a design, depending on your preference.
  2. Allow toilet paper rolls to dry.
  3. Glue several pieces of the Mylar shreds to the inside top of the toilet paper roll, creating a sort of "fountain" effect. We recommend you use a variety of colors for the best, most festive effect.
  4. Decorate the outside of your Toilet Paper Roll Firecracker with glitter and stickers as desired.

Crafts are a fun and easy way for kids of all ages to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday, and make festive decorations for your holiday parties too.

I love that the little kids and the older ones can be involved in the decorating.
